Hi everyone, CodeHeads is looking at expanding and we are looking for 2 Flash/HTML5 programmers/developers to join our ranks. We are based in the UK, Essex (So just outside London) and we are moving into mobile and social games thick and fast, as well as keeping to casual flash and HTML5 games of course.
We have worked for and are working for right now some of the biggest names in casual gaming, social gaming and console gaming, so working at CodeHeads will give you the chance to work with major companies based all around the world and work in the forefront of the gaming industry.
So what are we looking for?
We have 2 positions available – 1 HTML5 developer, 1 HTML5/Flash developer.
These are Full time positions.
Would like to have both working on-site, so must be able to travel to the office. If you can provide a great portfolio and we really like your work, then we can talk about working from home for us. This would require daily contact, details would be sorted at the time though. But, we would prefer working on-site.
HTML5 Programmer requirements
HTML5 is still new and we are not expecting massive experience in the field, what you must show though is:-
You have worked on HTML5 games before, both desktop and mobile
You have the knowledge to create mobile HTML5 games that work across all/most devices
This will mean knowledge of HTML5/CSS3/Javascript/Canvas etc….
Having knowledge and experience with online/multiplayer is a massive plus as, like mentioned, social gaming is where we are heading
Flash/HTML5 Programmer requirements
Flash is not new and we are not looking specifically for someone with 10 years experience and degrees, we believe talent is out there and we want to give those who may not yet have or want to have degrees a chance to work on massive projects and work in our game development studio, but what is needed is:-
Knowledge of AS3 (AS2 is a bonus, but AS3 is wanted)
Knowledge using 3rd party API’s e.g. Highscore, stats tracking
Knowledge in online/multiplayer is a massive plus and wanted really, mainly will be using PlayerIO services, so showing you have worked with PlayerIO is a massive plus as well
Can showcase past games to us
Have knowledge with 3rd party engines, e.g. box2d etc…
As for HTML5, what is mentioned above, although knowledge of HTML5 development is not a massive need but a great plus if it is there
What we want overall
We are looking for someone who is passionate about gaming and developing games, regardless of experience, we will be taking into account your passion as well, we don’t see this as just a job, we see it as a passion and we hope to reflect that in our games
On-site working – We really would prefer to have someone who can travel to the office, we spend the working day all together, developing ideas and so on then go home
We would prefer this as it allows us to all see how things are developing there and then and we can all keep each motivated a lot easier. Like it says above, we are open to someone working remotely, but it isn’t what is preferred
Someone who will enjoy what they are doing, this is important, we don’t want to come into a dark, dull office with no excitement, we want to get everyone excited about what we are doing and that will reflect in our games, so we want you to enjoy your work not just feel you have to do it.
Really, as you can see, experience is a massive plus, but we are a young company looking to expand with the market and we are happy and willing taking on new, young talent as long as you can provide a decent portfolio of work and prove what you can do. As for wages and benefits:-
Annual Wage - To be discussed
Bonuses
Conference trips
And more! - This is to be discussed at a later date
We believe these are very exciting job opportunities for a very exciting market to be working in, so if interested please contact us via our contact form here and we hope to speak very soon!
Thanks,
Michael (CEO)
